Job Description:

Position : Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift Shift : Day Shift Job Summary : As a Registered Nurse in the Med-Surg department , you will provide coordinated, patient-centered nursing care to an assigned group of patients. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that each patient receives the highest standard of care while overseeing the nursing activities of other staff. This role requires critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to assess and respond to the health needs of patients. Essential Functions : Patient Care : Collect relevant health data, analyze the information to determine diagnoses and care issues, and develop care plans to achieve desired patient outcomes. Implement care plans, ensure patient safety, and employ strategies to promote health and healing. Continuously evaluate patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans. Collaboration : Work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to provide holistic, compassionate care in a safe, healing, and caring environment. Participate in the planning and delivery of patient education to ensure understanding of health conditions, treatments, and safety measures. Assist in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-hospitalization. Leadership and Supervision : Supervise and delegate appropriate duties to nursing staff, ensuring that all team members work efficiently and effectively. Ensure that nursing activities meet established standards of care and operational guidelines. Documentation and Communication : Accurately document patient assessments, care plans, progress, and any interventions in accordance with legal, regulatory, and hospital requirements. Provide clear and concise communication to all members of the healthcare team to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications : Education and Experience : Preferred : Bachelor---s Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred : Experience in an acute care or medical-surgical setting Licenses and Certifications : Required : Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of California Required : Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
