• Certification Details
• ACLS, BLS
• Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS
• Common Cases: CABG, Valve replacements, TAVR support for the Cath Lab, Trachs, Thoracotomy, VATS, pericardial window, sternotomy, Pleurodesis, Additional experience in first assisting would be of benefit.

  • Bakersfield Memorial is looking for a RNFA for the CVOR specifically.
  • Shifts start at 6 am but the lengths will vary on need.
  • Work Mon through Friday, and are on call that week for the entire 24 hours.
  • They need to be proficient in first assisting all cardiothoracic cases.
  • May be required to assist on the non-cardiothoracic cases when CV cases are not scheduled.
  • Required to work holidays as needed.
  • Assist physician as directed.
    • Job Requirements
    • Proficient in first assisting all cardiothoracic cases.
    • Experience in first assisting for general, ortho, vascular, urology, GYN, plastics, podiatry, and Neuro cases would be of benefit.
    • 1st and 2nd scrub for Cardiothoracic surgical procedures including ability to perform endovein harvest for vessels.
    • Must be able to circulate cardiothoracic cases also.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shift is 0630-1700.
      • Call every other week.
      • 30 minute call response time.
      • Work with the manager on scheduling - block scheduling at their discretion.
      • Shifts start at 6 am but the lengths will vary on need.
      • On call for Cardiothoracic cases and float to other specialties if needed.
      • Weeknight/Call Requirements: Yes, Call hours are end of shift until beginning of next day.
      • Weekend/Call Requirements: Yes, Varies by rotation.
      • Holiday/Call Requirements: Yes.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • 1 dedicated CT room, 1 backup CT room, and a Hybrid Cardiac Cath Lab.
        • Scrubbing required: Yes.
        • Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge - No assignment unless short staffed.
          • Additional Details
          • -Cerner Required-
          • No first time travelers.
          • # Suites: 1 dedicated CT room, 1 backup CT room, and a Hybrid Cardiac Cath Lab.
          • Average # of cases per day: 1-3.
          • Scrubbing required: - RN's Yes.
          • Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift: Charge - No assignment unless short staffed.
          • Floating Requirements: To DT as required.
          • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs Provided.
          • Unit/Department specific orientation.
